Job Description

Job Title: Deputy Social Care Manager Reporting to: Social Care Manager Role Purpose Reporting to the Social Care Manager, the successful candidate will support the development of positive, secure attachments through effective relationship-building, with the overall aim of providing a therapeutic, safe, and supportive environment for children and young people. Community Services’ ethos is centred on making a lasting and meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people who require a stable environment in which to grow and develop. Job Overview / Key Responsibilities Create, maintain, and promote a safe, caring, and stable living environment for children and young people placed in the centre Ensure Care Plans and Placement Plans are developed, agreed, implemented, and regularly reviewed for each young person Promote and uphold the rights, responsibilities, and wellbeing of each young person in line with legislation and best practice Ensure the effective and appropriate use of resources within the centre Consult and engage with young people and their families in a meaningful and respectful manner Participate in an on-call rota, providing on-call support to the centre and other Children’s Residential Centres as required Maintain and manage the centre’s budget in line with approved financial and organisational procedures Supervise, support, and develop staff within the centre Arrange duty rosters and manage designated staffing resources to ensure safe and effective service delivery Maintain a strong working knowledge of the National Standards for Children’s Residential Centres and ensure compliance Requirements Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care or a recognised professional qualification in Teaching, Social Care, Social Work, or Youth Work Minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience in mainstream residential care At least three years’ direct experience working in and/or managing services for vulnerable children and young people Excellent verbal, written, and report-writing skills Strong IT skills Full clean Irish driving licence held for a minimum of one year Benefits Salary: €58,000 per annum (Deputy Manager) Four weeks’ annual leave, in line with organisational policy Double pay for bank holidays worked Pension scheme: 1.5% employer contribution and 1.5% employee contribution Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) available to staff and their partners Supportive management structure and opportunities for ongoing professional development
